Shopify 

The Shopify plugin allows you to send your sales data automatically to Feefo, so we can send out feedback requests on your behalf. If you have a Shopify site, this means you don’t have to manually upload your sales data, saving you valuable time. 

Orders with a cancelled date will not be sent feedback requests. You can also exclude certain products so that when they’re purchased, the customer won’t be sent a feedback request. To find out how to set up exclusions, scroll down to ‘How to exclude products from feedback requests’. 

How to install the Shopify plugin 

Before you start the installation process, you need to check that your Shopify App Store and Feefo Hub accounts have the same login email address.  

Once that’s done, you’re ready to add the three pieces of code that need to be placed into your Shopify site template. There are two ways to do this: 

Installation via the Shopify App Store 

  1. Login to the Shopify app store  

  1. Search for ‘Feefo’ in the search bar and click ‘Feefo ratings & reviews’ or click here 

  1. Click the ‘Add app’ button and follow the interactive guide 

Installation via the Feefo Hub 

  1. Login to the Hub  

  1. Head to ‘Marketing > eCommerce Installation Packages’ on the left-hand menu 

  1. Click ‘Install package’ under Shopify 

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions 

How to exclude products from feedback requests 

You may wish to stop specific products from being reviewed, such as samples. To do this, you need to head to your Shopify admin panel and follow these steps: 

  1. Click ‘Products > Collections’ 

  1. Click the ‘Add collection’ button 

  1. Set the title of the new collection to feefo_exclude 

  1. Untick all options under the ‘Visibility’ section 

  1. Under ‘Select products’, choose to ‘Manually select products’ 

  1. Click ‘Save collection’ 

  1. From the ‘Products’ box of your new collection, search for the products you want to be excluded. Any products you add to this collection will not be sent a feedback request 

Please be aware that if a customer only purchases products that are excluded, they will not receive a feedback request at all. 

How to add sales tags to your data 

The ‘Collections’ feature in Shopify can not only be used to exclude products from feedback requests, it can also be used to group products together and assign tags that pull through to Feefo, helping you to track different types of products and themes. 

For example, you may want to group together seasonal products, items on sale, or items of a certain type, colour or size. Feefo uses the name of the collection to add tags to the uploaded sales data. So if a collection was called ‘Menswear’, when someone purchases a product within that collection, the Feefo data will have the category tag ‘Menswear’. 

If you need more customised tag keys to be added, use Shopify manual collections. These allow you to use the format ‘Key:value’ when naming the collection, so you can use more than just category tags e.g. clothing:shirts. Please note that you can’t use custom tags when you use Shopify automatic collections. 

How to uninstall the Shopify plugin 

To uninstall the plugin, you must remove the three lines of code manually. If the code has been added in our recommended location, you need to follow these steps: 

  1. From the Shopify admin panel, click ‘Online store and themes’ 

  1. Click ‘…’, followed by ‘Edit HTML/CSS’ 

  1. Under ‘Layout > theme.liquid’ remove:

  1. Under ‘Templates > product.liquid’ remove the following two lines of code:
